Our Story

The genesis of Sigma Kappa Psi Sorority finds its roots in the visionary leadership of Sherry E. Livingston, the President, and a cadre of dedicated officers who answered the call to forge a sisterhood above the clouds. Sherry, an experienced flight attendant, keenly perceived the prevailing absence of community and connection within the aviation industry. Fueled by a desire to address the pervasive issues of depression and loneliness among colleagues, Sherry envisioned a sorority that would serve as a pillar of support and camaraderie.

Accompanying Sherry on this transformative journey are dedicated officers who accepted the responsibility of laying the foundation for Sigma Kappa Psi. Donna Nixon, Vice President; Jael Moses, Treasurer; Sunni Lynn Simmons, Secretary; and Debra Johnson, Chief Strategist Officer, each bring their unique expertise and passion to the sorority.

Recognizing the profound impact of a sense of belonging on morale, emotional well-being, and mental health, the Sigma Kappa Psi leadership team is committed to fostering a supportive community for flight attendants. The sorority is poised to become a beacon of unity in an industry where isolation often prevails, thanks to the collective dedication of its visionary leaders and officers. As Sigma Kappa Psi prepares to welcome its Founding Angels, the sorority stands not only as a response to a crucial need but as a transformative force that elevates the professional and personal lives of those who navigate the skies.
