Flying In Crazy Times...

Let’s Talk: Staying Positive While Flying in Crazy Times

Look, I know it’s been a lot lately. Every time we turn around, there’s another headline about an airline incident, and let’s be real—it can shake you up. Whether you’re a flight attendant, a frequent flyer, or just someone who loves to travel, these stories can make you pause for a second and think, Dang… do I really want to get on this plane?

But sis, let me remind you of something: Flying is STILL the safest way to travel. I know it doesn’t feel like it when the media is constantly throwing worst-case scenarios in our faces, but facts are facts—aviation is built on safety, preparation, and continuous improvement.

Aviation is Locked in on Safety

Every single day, thousands of flights take off and land safely with no issues. Pilots? Trained like crazy for every scenario imaginable. Flight attendants? Trained for safety first, service second. Aircraft? Maintained with strict regulations and multiple backup systems for just about anything that could go wrong.

What we see in the news are the exceptions, not the norm. When something happens, it’s fully investigated, and guess what? The industry LEARNS from it to make things even safer moving forward.

So while it’s easy to focus on the one-in-a-million, remember that the skies are still one of the safest places to be.

If You’re Feeling Anxious, Try This…

I get it, sis. When you’re about to take off, and all those “what ifs” start creeping in, it’s not easy to just chill. But here are some things that can help:

💙 Turn Off the Bad News – If you keep feeding your mind negativity, that’s all you’ll focus on. Instead of doomscrolling, find uplifting travel stories, watch a good movie, or put on some feel-good music before your flight.

💙 Breathe, Boo! – Simple but effective. Deep breaths in, deep breaths out. Meditation, prayer, journaling—whatever calms you, do that before takeoff.

💙 Trust the Experts – These pilots and crews don’t play about safety. If they weren’t 100% confident in the flight, it wouldn’t be leaving the gate. Period.

💙 Keep a Sisterhood Mindset – Lean on your crew. Chat with your crewmate, call a loved one, or just remind yourself that you’re not in this alone. We got you!

Mind Over Matter

At the end of the day, it’s about perspective. You can either let fear control your experience, or you can remind yourself that you are stepping into a world of possibilities. Travel is a privilege. The sky is still beautiful. The world is waiting for you.

So, the next time you buckle up and hear that ding, take a deep breath and remember: you are safe, you are supported, and you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Now go ahead and enjoy that flight, sis. ✈️💙 #WheelsUp #FearlessFlyers #TrustTheSkies
