In the world of aviation, where the skies are the limit, a remarkable group of women has come together to form Sigma Kappa Psi Sorority, an organization dedicated to fostering sisterhood, professionalism, and community service among flight attendants. These trailblazers, known as the Founding Angels, each bring unique backgrounds, talents, and passions to our sorority. In this article, we will get a glimpse into the lives of Sherry E. Livingston, Donna Nixon, Jael Moses, Sunni Lynn Simmons, and Debra Johnson, shedding light on the extraordinary journeys that have led them to the world of aviation.
Getting to know Donna, "Tango Surprise"
or "The Crazy One" as she likes to call herself!!
"I was the girl who has always wanted to travel the world. I was raised in Charlotte and have a background in Finance and Computers. I like skating, anime/fan girl/cos-play, yoga, anything Star Trek related, reading, music and martial arts."
Jael, "Miss J", holds a special place.
"I started working with PSA in 2017, CLT based. I came from a healthcare background working in Oncology/Hospice Care and was ready for a change. I had no idea it would be a different industry all together. When I'm not working or enjoying a little leisure travel, you can catch me outside my garden with the plants and flowers or working on natural skincare products, Kountertop Kreations. I also work on a team of Ambassadors working with recruiters for new Flight Attendant potentials!"
Sunni is that; the ray of sun we all need!!
"I have been with PSA as a flight attendant for six years and I have had the pleasure of mentoring a plethora of children throughout my life which brings me great pleasure. Before becoming a Flight Attendant I spent several years working in the marketing and broadcasting field, my passion includes leaving a legacy for up-and-coming adults. Our children are our future, and the future is where we spend the rest of our lives!"
Silver shines best, when it's polished!
"I spent a large part of my adult life trying to find my place, so I stayed in college for a long time...like 12 years. I graduated from Liberty University and became a Chaplain. Hated it! So, I decided to do something crazy. I became a flight attendant and for whatever reason it's kind of stuck. My greatest achievements have been serving as Ms. Arkansas United States 2014, Ms. Globe 2016, and International Ms. South Atlantic 2022. So, I'm used to being "on stage I love to meet new people and spend time with my boys. I also really love chocolate and carbs, but they don't love me back."
Debra, the Sigma Mama, is mama for a reason!
"I'm a retired nurse, so most of my adult life has been about caring for others. Before moving to Charlotte with my daughter, I took care of both my mother and brother at the same time until they lost their battles to cancer. I'm a happy go lucky person with dreams and hopes, even at this age! I have many talents, but I seem to be best in problem solving, organizing and creativity. I enjoy traveling, music, and being in the company of other women who have things in common with me. I've always wanted to be in a sorority and I'm excited to have this opportunity!"
